It is a polymer which is produced by propylene monomer (obtained from gasses which comes out of olefin plants and oil refineries), being polymerized by coordination catalysts. Because of its low density and high resistance it has a very high strength/weight ratio. It is therefore the most commonly used polymer in every field. Including but not limited to automotives, textiles and packing industries. The melting point of polypropylene crystals is about 160 degrees and processes take place usually over 200 degrees.
